Recognition Learning was founded in 2014 by Anita Samson, an accomplished Psychologist and Teacher, who has ongoing experience working in schools across Sydney. At Recognition Learning, we strongly believe that there is great value in appreciating how all aspects of mental health and wellbeing interact with a child’s learning and education.
Our education services are delivered with a strong understanding of the ways in which wellbeing, mental health, and cognitive processes can impact the learning process. Our Tutors are trained and guided by mental health professionals and educators, giving them a skillset that is unique and unmatched.
Our psychology services - including counselling and assessments - are delivered by professionals who have current knowledge of how schools operate, and why this context is vital to supporting children and young people with mental health needs. Teaching principles are integrated into the creation and delivery of therapeutic interventions to ensure that counselling is engaging, relevant, and effective.

Recognition Learning has designed its tuition, psychology and education service areas so that students and parents can move between these service areas with ease and confidence. Student relationships and history built in one service area can be professionally transferred to another, when the need arises. This approach allows for more meaningful client relationships to be built over time.

Recognition Learning’s highly successful approach to education and mental health has been shaped exclusively by staff that are not only qualified in teaching, psychology, and education, but more importantly, have extensive and reputable experience as practitioners. This allows Recognition Learning to understand how academic approaches to education are actually applied in schools.
Recognition Learning’s staff are specialists in education and psychology. They are specifically trained in education skills and techniques that reflect the effective, practical experience of professional teachers, psychologists and school counsellors.
Integrated
Recognition Learning are leaders in the integration of education and psychology services. Specialist Tutors are trained to deliver customised lessons with an understanding of learning processes, cognitive development, mental health and behavioural and emotional needs. The Director of Recognition Learning is both a Registered Psychologist and qualified teacher, with extensive experience working in schools.
